I was tested for Lyme 5 times and used various labs including IGeneX, Quest and LabCorp. All were negative but finally, one of my tests came back marginally positive for the Western Blot with reactive bands at 39 and 41. Based on my symptoms and this partially positive test, my MD treated me with Rifampin for 3 months and then added Azythromycin. I also had to take diflucan 2x per week to keep the yeast in check. Miraculous healing started to occur after the second month. The take-away message here is that Lyme tests are not accurate for everyone since they rely on the body?s immunological response to the Lyme spirochete. However, keep in mind that the Lyme spirochete is thought to modulate the immune system so that it doesn?t respond normally. Thus, the conundrum?.the test is designed for a normally functioning immune system, and many people who have chronic Lyme do not have a normally functioning immune system. Conventional medicine has been very, very slow to grasp this concept."
