Vuonna 2000 huomasin antibioottien parantavan olotilaani ja aloin etsiä internetistä tietoa borrelioosista. Minulle tehtiin uudet laboratoriotestit toisessa laboratoriossa ja minulla todettiin borrelioosi, ehrlichioosi, bartonella ja babesioosi. Vointini on parantunut huomattavasti hoitojen myötä. Minulla oli kuitenkin äskettäin voimakas neuro-oireiden pahenemisjakso. Hoidan itseäni sekä perinteisillä koululääketieteen että vaihtoehtolääketieteen menetelmillä."
I am a thirty two year old married woman living in upstate New York (originally from Long Island). In 1990, I developed a large round red rash on my arm which caused my elbow to painfully swell to almost twice its size. I saw a doctor but he dismissed it. I was just a teen and felt ok other than my elbow so I accepted his spider bite diagnosis.
My health slowly deteriorated of the next 6 years. I became severely ill in 1996. I was given an ELISA test (positive) and the traditional Western Blot for Lyme (negative except for band 41). I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome and Fibromyalgia until the year 2000 when I accidentally discovered that antibiotics affected my symptoms. I reached out to other "lymies" online and found out that the tests were not reliable! I was retested at better labs and saw a doctor who knew was Lyme Disease looked like in a patient. I was subsequently diagnosed with Lyme Disease and 3 other tick diseases: babesiosis, ehrlichiosis and bartonella.
I am no longer totally debilitated and continue to treat my disease aggressively and successfully using both traditional and alternative methods.
I have recently had a sudden flare up of my neurological symptoms and my LLMD suggests a new bite. So I am treating very aggressively right now and doing ok so far.
