New York, NY (October 23, 2008) - Alyssa and Michael Sokoloff of Turn the Corner Foundation (TTC) hosted the inaugural Create Footprints? walk. The walk was held at Saxon Woods Park in White Plains, NY on Sunday, September 14, 2008. The day included a 3K walk, brunch, a live DJ and a raffle. The walk was a great success and helped raise $50,000 to support research, education, awareness and innovative treatments for Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases.
Create Footprints? is a national fundraising program that enables volunteers across the country to plan a walk to raise funds for TTC initiatives. Create Footprints? provides an all-inclusive tool kit that gives you everything you need, including step-by-step instructions, forms and innovative tools, to execute a successful fundraising walk for TTC in your own home town.
If you would like to learn more about this exciting program, be sure to attend the Create Footprints workshop on Friday, November 14, 2008 in midtown Manhattan from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Snacks will be provided and it's the perfect time to meet other motivated volunteers from all over the country since it will be held the day after TTC's annual fundraising gala, Unmask A Cure. If you're not going to be in Manhattan, you may participate in a conference call on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. To attend either meeting, please email email@example.com with your name, location and which meeting you would like to attend.
Staci Grodin, founder of TTC, said, "This is an amazing program and was a no-brainer for our organization to participate in. We are based out of New York City yet Create Footprints? gives us the opportunity to mobilize volunteers nationally. In just a few months of working with Create Footprints?, we have already held a very successful first walk and are in conversations with people in different regions of the United States organizing walks to support our mission."
Create Footprints? is an ideal way for volunteers around the country to raise money and awareness in the fight against Lyme disease. Walks have tremendous potential to gather donations without requiring years of fundraising or event-planning experience and allow people of all ages to participate. Plus, Create Footprints? makes it easy and fun!
